Metal roofing

Metal roofing has moved well past barns and outbuildings. Done right, a steel roof is one of the most durable systems you can put on an Arizona home.

The metal systems we install

Each of these is a steel system. Which one fits depends on your roof pitch, the look you want, and the budget you are working with.

  • Standing seam — concealed fasteners, clean vertical lines, modern look
  • Stone-coated steel — steel strength with a textured, tile- or shake-like finish
  • PBR, PBM, and corrugated panels — exposed-fastener steel for shops, outbuildings, and cost-driven projects

How metal performs in the desert

Metal does not dry out, crack, or lose granules under UV the way asphalt does. It sheds monsoon rain fast, and a properly installed panel system gives wind very little to grab.

Heat is the design consideration. Panel finish and color affect how much solar energy the roof absorbs, and expansion and contraction has to be planned for in the fastening method — one of the reasons standing seam performs so well here.

Installation matters more than the panel

Metal roofing is unforgiving of shortcuts. Panel layout, closures, flashing at walls and penetrations, and the fastening detail all have to be right, because a metal roof that moves incorrectly will telegraph that movement into leaks and oil-canning.

We install to the system's requirements and we do not make product, gauge, or lifespan claims we cannot back up. We will tell you exactly what we are installing on your roof.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Is a metal roof loud in the rain?

Over a solid deck with underlayment and an insulated attic, a residential metal roof is far quieter than most people expect.

Do you install aluminum roofing?

No. We focus on steel systems — standing seam, stone-coated steel, and exposed-fastener steel panels.
